Police charge provisional driver travelling 195km/h in 110km/h zone in Ingleburn

Police have charged a man after a car was detected travelling at 195km/h in Sydney’s south today, NSW Police say.

About 1.40am today, officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a vehicle travelling in excess of the speed limit along the Hume Highway, Ingleburn. That section of the Hume Highway has a 110km/h speed limit.

Further checks revealed the 20-year-old man was the holder of a South Australian provisional licence.

Among the passengers in the Honda Accord were two children, aged 11 and 12.

The 20-year-old man was issued with a Field Court Attendance notices for driving at a speed dangerous, exceed speed limit over 45 km/h and resident of NSW more than three months not obtain NSW driver licence.

He will appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday 5 September 2016
