Police charge two after armed robbery at Tamworth

Two men have been charged over an armed robbery in Tamworth last year.

It will be alleged just before 8.30pm on Monday 1 October 2018, two men armed with knives entered a pub on Gunnedah Road and threatened staff, demanding money.

The men fled with cash and police were alerted.

Officers from Oxley Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following extensive inquiries, a 22-year-old man was arrested by detectives in Glen Innes on 10 January 2019 and charged with armed robbery. He remains before the courts.

After further inquiries, a 21-year-old man was arrested in Newcastle yesterday (Wednesday 8 May 2019) and charged with armed robbery.

He's been bail refused to appear at Newcastle Local Court today (Thursday 9 May 2019).
