Police charge two after break and enter appeal - Castle Hill

A man and a woman have been charged over an alleged aggravated break and enter in Castle Hill earlier this year.

About 9am on Thursday 27 January 2021, a man and a woman allegedly forced entry into a home on Gilham Street, Castle Hill, before a 22-year-old man was restrained with cable ties and a second occupant – a 55-year-old man – was stabbed in the neck.

Police have been told the pair then stole cash before fleeing the scene.

Officers attached to The Hills Police Area Command were notified and attended the home, where a crime scene was established and forensically examined.

The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition and has since been released.

Following inquiries and a public appeal for information, a 31-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman were arrested at Burwood Police Station yesterday (Tuesday 22 March 2022).

The man and woman were both charged with special aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence – wound. They were refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 23 March 2022).
