Police charge two after Dandenong ram raid

Greater Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two Narre Warren men following an alleged commercial burglary in Dandenong.

It's alleged the men, aged 25 and 47, used a vehicle to gain access to a Lonsdale Street premises about 3.30am on 6 May, before stealing a safe containing cash and fleeing the scene.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police executed a search warrant at a Narre Warren address on 22 July in relation to the alleged incident and located various items including weapons and substances believed to be drugs.

The 47-year-old was arrested at the premises.

The 25-year-old later came forward to police on 9 August.

The men have been charged with various charges including burglary, theft, criminal damage, possess drugs, possess ammunition and driving offences.

Both have been remanded to appear before Dandenong Magistrates' Court.

The 25-year-old will appear on 13 September and the 47-year-old will appear on 14 September.
