Police Charge Two After Morwell Stabbings

Homicide Squad detectives have charged two people this morning following the death of a man in Morwell on Saturday night.

Police were called after two people were located with serious injuries, believed to be stab wounds, about 10.25pm on 27 September.

An 18-year-old Morwell man was located on The Boulevard and was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

A 20-year-old Warragul man was located on Gillies Street and was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives arrested two males on Sunday in relation to the incident.

A 19-year-old Traralgon man and a 16-year-old boy from the La Trobe area have both been charged with murder and intentionally causing serious injury.

The 19-year-old man will face Morwell Magistrates' Court today while the 16-year-old has will face a children's court today.

Police believe the parties are known to each other.
