Police Charge Two Men Over Armed Robbery At Kelso

Two men will face court following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery in the state's Central Tablelands.

About 3am on Friday 18 July 2025, two men – allegedly armed with a metal pole and a machete – forced entry into a business on Boyd Street, Kelso.

The two men grabbed two backpacks containing business documentation, a laptop and keys before they left the shop.

The owner was inside at the time and was not injured.

Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, about 10am the same day, police attended a home on Mcmenamin Place, Kelso, where police located and seized business documents and a laptop.

About 11.50am on Saturday 19 July 2025, police attended a home on Greville Street, Kelso, and arrested a 40-year-old man.

He was taken to Bathurst Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, robbery armed with offensive weapon, and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on 19 July 2025, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 24 September 2025.

Following further inquiries, bout 2.50pm on Friday 25 July 2025, police attended a unit on Burrendong Way, Orange, and arrested a 35-year-old man.

He was taken to Orange Police Station.

The man was charged with possess prohibited drug, possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, and robbery armed with offensive weapon.

He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 26 July 2025, where he was formally refused bail to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday 25 September 2025.
