Police charge two over break and enters near Wollongong

Two men have been charged over an alleged break and enter at a home in Farmborough Heights earlier this week.

About 2.30am on Sunday 4 April 2021, a home on Lyrebird Way was broken into and a number of power tools stolen.

A short time later, five motor vehicles were reportedly broken into on Lochview Avenue.

Police were notified and officers from Lake Illawarra Police District commenced inquiries.

Following inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home on Stanley Avenue, Farmborough Heights, about 10.30am on Wednesday 7 April 2021.

A 27-year-old man was arrested a short distance away. He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, and larceny.

The man was refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court yesterday (Thursday 8 April 2021), where he was formally refused bail to appear in the same court on Tuesday 20 April 2021.

Following further inquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested at a home in Unanderra yesterday (Thursday 8 April 2021).

He was taken to Wollongong Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company, and larceny.

The man was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 9 April 2021).
