Police charge two over street racing at Young

Two men have been charged over alleged street racing in Young.

On Saturday (3 July 2021), Riverina Traffic and Highway Patrol officers, attached to Puma South West Regional, became aware of a video depicting two vehicles allegedly street racing in Young, at speeds of up to 200km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Police will allege the incident took place in April.

Following inquiries, on Wednesday (7 July 2021), officers attended a home in Young and spoke with a 21-year-old man.

He was charged with organise, promote etc race between vehicles (second offence).

Then, police attended a home in Wagga Wagga yesterday (Thursday 8 July 2021), where they spoke to a 35-year-old man.

He has since been charged with organise, promote etc race between vehicles.

Both men had their licences suspended and were issued with Field Court Attendance Notices to appear in Young Local Court on Tuesday 17 August 2021.
