A man and woman will face court charged after alleged illegal hunting and robbery in the state's central west.
About 3.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 20 May 2025), a 22-year-old woman allegedly found two people – a 20-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man – hunting illegally on a property near Kiacatoo Road, Condobolin.
Upon seeing the 22-year-old, the man and woman attempted to drive away in their vehicle before it rolled, injuring the man.
After the 22-year-old approached the crash and called Triple-Zero, it is alleged the two people threatened her with a knife and assaulted her, then took her vehicle before leaving left the location.
Officers attached to Central West Police District were notified and an investigation commenced by the Parkes Rural Crime Prevention Team.
Following inquiries, police attended Griffith Hospital and arrested a 20-year-old woman and 22-year-old man, who had presented there for treatment.
The woman was taken to Griffith Police Station and the man remained in hospital under police guard.
They were both charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and enter private land to hunt animal without owner consent.
They were both refused bail to appear to appear before Griffith Local Court today (Wednesday 21 May 2025).
