Police charge woman after 2018 death of baby - Annandale

A woman has been charged following extensive inquiries into the 2018 death of a baby at Annandale.

About 2pm on Sunday 18 February 2018, emergency services were called to a home on Ferris Street, after a seven-week-old baby was found unresponsive

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy; however, he died at the scene.

Detectives from Leichhardt Police Area Command established Strike Force Corry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the infant's death after a post-mortem examination identified the presence of methylamphetamine and amphetamine.

Following lengthy investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 40-year-old woman at a correctional facility in Silverwater yesterday (Thursday 6 August 2020).

She was charged with use poison so as to endanger life (DV) and was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today (Friday 7 August 2020).
