Police Charge Woman After House Fire - Mirrabooka

A woman will face court charged following an investigation into a house fire in Mirrabooka last night.

About 10.40pm on Sunday 17 August 2025, emergency services were called to Mooranga Road, Mirrabooka after reports of a house fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze; however, the house was destroyed.

A 32-year-old woman – and sole occupant – was able to evacuate and was not injured.

She was arrested at the scene by officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District and taken to Toronto Police Station.

She was charged with damage property by fire / explosion more than $15,000.

She was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Monday 18 August 2025.
