Police charge woman after investigation into wounding of man - Bondi

A woman faced court today charged following an investigation into the wounding of a man at Bondi earlier this month.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Bondi Road about 10.20am on Tuesday 13 July 2021, following reports a man had been injured.

Police were told the man was involved in an altercation with another person.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and found a 52-year-old man with a number of stab wounds to his torso and head.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital with a punctured lung, fractured skull and bleeding on the brain.

The man remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Strike Force Maranboy was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, about 10.30am today (Monday 26 July 2021), detectives attended a unit on Elphinstone Road, South Coogee, and arrested a 35-year-old woman.

She was taken to Waverley Police Station, where she was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The woman was refused bail and appeared at Waverley Local Court today (Monday 26 July 2021).
