Police charge woman after stabbing at Tamworth

A woman has been charged over an alleged domestic-related stabbing in Tamworth.

About 11pm yesterday (Monday 13 May 2019), police were called to a home on Sue Crescent, Tamworth, where they located a 37-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his head and upper body.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Tamworth Base Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.

The man's 47-year-old partner was arrested nearby and taken to Tamworth Police Station where she was charged with maliciously inflict grievous bodily harm.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Tuesday 14 May 2019).
