A woman has been charged following investigations into a fatal three-vehicle crash near Richmond last year.
The crash occurred on Bells Line of Road, Bilpin, just after 1pm on Saturday 20 October 2018, after a Toyota Camry travelling east and a Holden Cruz and Subaru Impreza travelling west collided in the westbound lanes.
The driver of the Holden, a 79-year-old man and his passenger, a 72-year-old woman, were taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old woman and her front-seat passenger, a 17-year-old boy, were also taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The rear seat passenger, a 15-year-old boy, was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition where he underwent surgery for internal injuries.
They have all since been released from hospital.
The Subaru driver, a 23-year-old man, was uninjured.
Following an investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit, yesterday (Wednesday 6 March 2019), a woman, now aged 19, was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for 10 offences:
- Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive under the influence (x3)
- Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – driver manner dangerous (x3)
- Negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm)
- Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous
- Not keep left of dividing line
- Drive vehicle, illicit drug present in blood
The Dee Why woman is due to appear at Windsor Local Court on Wednesday 15 May 2019.
