Police charge woman following East Keilor collision

Police have charged a woman after a person was killed and six were injured in a collision in East Keilor on 24 May, Victoria Police say.

Emergency services were called to the Calder Freeway, near Milleara Road, about 8.35am after a petrol tanker travelling outbound collided with a number of vehicles.

It’s believed the truck was in the centre lane on the freeway when a car allegedly pulled in front of it and caused the truck to swerve.

One car was crushed under the truck during the incident and a 48-year-old man died.

Six others were transported to hospital with injuries including the truck driver.

A 48-year-old Keilor woman was charged yesterday with the following offences:

-Dangerous driving causing death

-Two counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury

-Reckless conduct endangering life

-Careless driving

-Fail to give way

The woman was bailed to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 2 December for a filing hearing.
