A woman has been charged after allegedly deliberately lighting a house on fire in the state's north east last year.
About 10.20pm on Friday 20 November 2020, emergency services were called to a home on Quia Road, Gunnedah, following reports the home was engulfed with flames.
NSW Rural Fire Service officers extinguished the fire, which took several hours to contain.
Officers from Oxley Police District commenced inquiries into the fire, which was treated as suspicious.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 46-year-old woman at a home on Bloomfield Street, Gunnedah, about 7.40am yesterday (Tuesday 5 January 2021).
The woman was taken to Gunnedah Police Station and charged with damage property by fire >$15000.
She was granted conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 12 January 2021.
