Police charge woman over fatal crash at Port Kenny, South Australia

A driver has been charged over a fatal crash at Port Kenny in July that resulted in the death of a child.

At 4pm on Thursday 15 July, police were called to Pygery-Port Kenny Road at Port Kenny after reports of a single vehicle rollover.

A 9-year-old boy, seated in the rear of the Toyota RAV4, sadly died at the scene.

A 16-year old boy also seated in the rear sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Streaky Bay Hospital.

The driver and a front seat passenger, a 48-year-old man, both received minor injuries.

Yesterday, following investigations by Major Crash officers, the driver, a 46-year-old Fulham Gardens woman, was arrested and charged with aggravated cause death by dangerous driving, aggravated cause harm by dangerous driving, aggravated driving without due care and drive with prescribed drug in blood.

She was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 16 December.
