Police charge woman with attempted murder after domestic-related incident at Croydon

A woman has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a man following a domestic-related incident in Sydney's Inner West last week.

Emergency services were called to a home on Etonville Parade, Croydon, about 8.40pm on Thursday 3 December 2020, following reports a 70-year-old man was found with serious head injuries.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command attended and following a search of the home, a 65-year-old woman, known to the man, was found in the backyard with stab wounds.

They were both taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where the man remains in a serious condition.

Following inquiries, the woman, who was under police guard in hospital, was charged with cause wounding to person with intent to murder about 11.15am today (Friday 4 December 2020).

She was refused bail to appear via bedside hearing at Newtown Local Court today, where she was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 18 February 2021.

Police are not seeking any other parties in relation to the incident.
