Police charge woman with manslaughter after death of two women at Nambucca Heads

A woman will appear in court tomorrow after she was charged with manslaughter following the death of two women in the state's mid-north coast overnight.

Just before midnight (Saturday 28 September 2019), police were called to Nambucca Heads shopping centre, where two women had been struck by a vehicle and were not responsive.

Despite attempts to resuscitate the pair, both died at the scene. They were a 24-year-old from Bellingen and a 20-year-old from Macksville.

Police have charged a 52-year-old woman with manslaughter, dangerous driving occasioning death, drive manner dangerous and fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death.

She was bail refused to appear at Kempsey Local Court tomorrow Monday 30 September 2019.
