Detectives investigating the stabbing death of a man at Bankstown yesterday have charged a woman with murder.
Emergency services were called to a home on Rickard Road, Bankstown, about 2.15pm (Sunday 28 March 2021), where a 49-year-old man was found with stab wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene.
An investigation into the man's death was launched by detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command, assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
A 37-year-old woman, who was known to the man, was later taken to Bankstown Hospital under police guard for treatment.
Following her release from hospital at about 12pm today (Monday 29 March 2021), the woman was taken to Bankstown Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence-related).
She was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 30 March 2021).
