Police Charge Woman With Property Offences At Taree

A woman has been charged following an investigation into an alleged break and enter at a not-for-profit organisation in Taree.

Between 6pm on Tuesday 15 July 2025 and 6am yesterday (Wednesday 16 July 2025), a break and enter allegedly occurred at an organisation on Albert Street, Taree.

At the location, police were told parts of the building had been ransacked and several laptops, bags, keys, bank cards, clothing and electronics had been stolen.

Officers attached to Manning/Great Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Police will allege that about 10.05pm yesterday (Wednesday 16 July 2025), two people were seen attempting to break into the not-for-profit organisation again.

Officers commenced a search of the area and stopped to speak with a woman on nearby Pulteney Street a short time later.

During a search of the woman's bag, police allegedly located and seized several items alleged to have been stolen.

The 25-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station.

Following further inquiries, police commenced a search at a nearby abandoned house where they allegedly located and seized further items.

The woman was subsequently charged with break and enter house etc steal, and attempt break and enter house etc steal.

She was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Thursday 17 July 2025), where she was granted conditional bail to appear before Taree Local Court on Tuesday 29 July 2025.
