Police charge woman with stealing from charity tins at Albury

A woman has been charged with stealing from charity tins in the state's south.

Police allege the woman has on multiple occasions stolen charity tins from local businesses throughout Albury.

Officers attached to the Murray River Police District Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation and issued a warrant for the woman's arrest.

Police attended a home in West Albury about 11am yesterday (Monday 25 November 2019) and located the 43-year-old woman, who was allegedly found hiding under a bed.

The woman was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where she was charged with three counts of larceny and three counts of breaching a community-based order.

She was refused bail and is due to face Albury Local Court today (Tuesday 26 November 2019).
