Police chase computer thieves in Chadstone

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following the theft of several computers from a stationery store in Chadstone last Friday, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told a man and a woman entered the Warrigal Road store on Friday, 26 May just before 8pm.

The pair walked to the computer section and used a tool to cut the security cable to four Apple Mac laptop computers.

After removing the computers from the display they attempted to leave the store via a side fire exit when they were approached by a staff member.

The pair pointed the cutting tool at the staff member in a threatening manner and ran from the store.

Investigators have released an image of the man and the woman in the hope that someone can recognise them.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
