Police comment in relation to ICAC, South Australia

Police Commissioner Grant Stevens had previously been provided with authority from the Deputy Independent Commissioner Against Corruption to make public comment concerning the allegation that the Deputy Premier breached section 56 of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Act, 2012.

As a result; Commissioner Stevens advised that an investigation had been conducted by SAPOL and that the matter had been referred to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for assessment.

The formal authority also permitted Commissioner Stevens to make public comment on the outcome of the referral.

Commissioner Stevens confirms that a formal response has been received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

As a result of the advice provided through the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions there will be no further investigation or other action taken in relation to the matter involving the Attorney General and no further comment will be made.
