Police continue to investigate Craigieburn death

Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Craigieburn on 15 February.

Investigators have been told a 24-year-old Craigieburn man was seen attempting to break into a car in Hothlyn Drive about 2.30pm.

The man was confronted by residents and a short scuffle ensued.

Emergency services arrived a short time later and police arrested the man.

He was treated by ambulance crews but became unresponsive and died at the scene.

A crime scene has been set up while detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are awaiting the results of a post mortem to determine cause of death.

Two men from Craigieburn, a 72-year-old and a 33-year-old, were arrested at the scene but have been released pending further enquiries.
