Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are renewing their appeal for public assistance after a woman was sexually assaulted while travelling on a tram earlier in the year, Victoria Police say.
The victim, a 30-year-old woman, told police that the incident happened on the St Kilda Road tram on 26 May about 8pm.
The woman told investigators that a man stood close to her and touched her on the buttocks several times before she moved to another part of the tram.
The victim has recently taken a photograph of a man who investigators believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
