Police dig for leads following dog theft in Sebastopol

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a much loved family pet that was stolen from a Sebastopol back yard, Victoria Police say.

Mavis, a black Greyhound, was stolen from the rear of the Victoria Street premises sometime overnight on 9 May.

Police believe the dognapper opened the gates to the rear yard and made off with the canine victim.

Mavis’ owners are desperate to bring her home.

When last seen, Mavis was wearing a red collar and she is micro-chipped.

An image of Mavis have been released in the hope someone may recognise her and provide information on her current whereabouts.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
