Police Dog Bites Man in Padstow Break-In Attempt

A man has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after he was bitten by a police dog following an attempted break and enter in Padstow today.

About 10am (Sunday 21 September 2025), police were called to Parmal Avenue, Padstow, following reports of a domestic incident.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command arrived and were told that a man had allegedly tried to break into a home – where a woman known to him resided – before running from the scene upon police arrival.

Bankstown Police – with assistance from officers attached to Dog Unit, St George Police Area Command, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and PolAir – immediately commenced a search to locate the man.

Following inquiries, officers tracked the 44-year-old man to a nearby rail corridor near Bridge Street.

During the attempted arrest the man was bitten by a police dog.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool hospital in a stable condition under police guard.

Police have established a crime scene, and officers have commenced an investigation into the alleged attempted break and enter.
