Police Hunt Clues in Alice Springs Burglary 2 July

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an aggravated burglary that occurred in Alice Springs overnight.

Around 9pm, police received a report of two male youths unlawfully entering a residence on the Stuart Highway in Braitling.

The offenders were allegedly armed with an edged weapon and a shovel and demanded the 72-year-old male occupant hand over his keys and wallet. The offenders proceeded to search through the home and stole tobacco before fleeing.

The victim was not injured during the incident.

Police attended and located the shovel at the residence. It has been seized for forensic investigation.

A crime scene was declared, and Strike Force Viper have carriage of the investigation.
