Police are appealing for the public's assistance after fatal shooting in Sydney's west last week.
On Monday 16 March 2026, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced an investigation into an alleged shooting on Shale Street, Lidcombe.
A 38-year-old man was taken to a hospital however, he could not be revived.
A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, four men – aged 26, 22, 21 and 19 – have since been charged and they remain before the court.
As investigations continue, detectives have released images of a man they believe may assist with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, possibly in his 20s or early 30s, with a black beard and moustache.
He is depicted wearing a black zip-up hoodie on top of a black cap.
Police are urging anyone who knows the man or has information that may assist investigators to contact Auburn Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Investigations under Strike Force Vanport are continuing.
