Police Hunt Missing Man in Wide Bay, Gympie Region

Police are seeking urgent public assistance to locate a 78-year-old man reported missing since yesterday, 3 April.

Jay Bentley was last seen in Gladstone about 10am and was travelling to the Gold Coast.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he suffers from a medical condition that may cause confusion.

Jay is Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall, with a slim build, grey hair and brown eyes.

Investigations indicate Jay's last known location was at the intersection of Abel Road and the Wide Bay Highway, Lower Wonga about 2.30pm.

Jay is travelling in a silver Holden Rodeo with Queensland registration 782KGT and police believe he may be in the Goomeri, Gympie or Kilkivan area.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information about Jay's whereabouts or who have seen his vehicle to contact Policelink.

Investigations are ongoing.
