Police Hunt Tips After Albury Hit-and-Run Crash

Police are appealing for information following a multi vehicle crash near Albury last week, where a car allegedly failed to stop.

About 3.20pm on Monday 18 August 2025, emergency services were called to reports of three-vehicle crash on the Hume Highway, Thurgoona, about 9.5km north-east of Albury.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District responded and were told a Mustang, Toyota utility and a third unknown car had past East Street, East Albury heading towards the Borella Road exit when the unknown vehicle had hit the rear of the Mustang causing it to crash into the utility.

The utility has then spun-out crashing into a nearby guardrail before the unknown car left the scene.

The Toyota and Mustang were extensively damaged.

Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are hoping to speak to the driver of a silver-coloured car seen in the area at the time of the incident.
