Police Hunt Tips on Alice Springs Robbery Attempt

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an attempted robbery that occurred in Alice Springs on Saturday.

Around 11:30am, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report that a man aged in his 90s had been assaulted at his residence in Sadadeen.

It is alleged a female youth approached the victim on his front porch and demanded he hand over money, before pushing him to the ground when he refused. The offender tried to gain access to the residence but was deterred by the victim's wife and fled the scene on foot.

The victim suffered minor injuries and was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by St John Ambulance for treatment.

The offender remains outstanding, and investigations are ongoing.

Senior Sergeant Glenn Bolger said, "This is disgusting behaviour.

"Attacking the most vulnerable people of our community is disgraceful and police are working tirelessly to identify and locate the offender involved.
