Police are appealing for witnesses following an act of indecency at a public toilet in the Lake Illawarra area.
About 9am Thursday, a man and his two children entered public toilets within a cinema complex on Cowper Street, Warrawong, where they allegedly witnessed a man committing an act of indecency.
The man informed cinema staff who then contacted police.
Police attended the location and following investigations, a 66-year-old man was arrested a short distance away.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.
Police continue to investigate the incident, and are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Particularly, investigators would like to speak to the man who was with his children at the cinema when the incident occurred.
Police are also appealing to anyone else who may have witnessed incidents similar in nature, in the Warrawong area over the last few months.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.
