Police investigate after attempted robbery and sexual touching of teenage girl at Moss Vale

An investigation is underway following the attempted armed robbery and sexual touching of a teenage girl in the Southern Highlands this week.

About 6pm on Wednesday (20 May 2020), a 14-year-old girl was walking her dog in Lackey Park on Lackey Road, Moss Vale, when she was approached by three unknown males.

One of them produced a knife and threatened the girl, demanding money.

She was pushed to the ground and sexually touched after the knife was used to cut the top she was wearing.

The males left, and the girl returned home before police were notified.

Officers from The Hume Police District attended and established a crime scene at the location.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Moss Vale area on Wednesday night and may have seen anything suspicious or anyone with information about the incident to contact Southern Highlands Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
