Police investigate after public place shooting - Ambarvale

Police have appealed for information after a public place shooting overnight, which left a teenager with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Between midnight and 12.15am (Sunday 19 May 2019), a 17-year-old male youth was walking with friends near the intersection of Woodhouse Drive and Jaggers Place, after leaving a nearby party when he was shot.

The teenager was treated at Campbelltown Hospital for a gunshot wound to the right upper arm.

The injury is not life threatening and the teenager was later transferred to Liverpool Hospital to undergo surgery.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command were contacted and attended the hospital where they spoke with the youth, who was unable to provide details of the incident.

Investigators continue with their inquiries into the shooting.

Police have appealed to the public for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
