Police Investigate Armed Robberies At Gold Coast

Police are investigating two armed robberies on the Gold Coast yesterday evening, 22 February.

Around 5.45pm , a male attended a convenience store on Mildura Drive at Helensvale armed with a hammer and demanded money from the 30-year-old male employee.

The victim complied and the male fled with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Around 6.35pm, a male entered a cake shop on Cottonwood Place at Oxenford armed with a hammer and demanded money from the 39-year-old male attendant.

The employee complied and the male fled with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives are investigating whether the two incidents are linked and are appealing to anyone with information to contact police.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the robberies, or may have relevant dash-camera footage, is asked to come forward.
