Police investigate armed robbery at Beaudesert

Police are investigating after a man was robbed at a public toilet block in Beaudesert yesterday evening.

Preliminary investigations indicate at around 7.30pm a 26-year-old man entered the amenities block in a park on Beaudesert Nerang Road and Brooklands Drive where he noticed a man inside.

As the victim went in to a cubicle he was approached from behind by another man who produced a knife and demanded his wallet and phone.

The victim complied and handed over his wallet before the two men used a rope to tie the cubicle door shut.

The pair then fled the scene and the man was able to force his way out of the cubicle and contact police.

He was not injured as a result of the incident.

One of the men is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall with a slim build and dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a white hooded jumper and dark pants.

The second man is described as Caucasian, around 160cm tall with short black hair, moustache, beard and goatee. He was wearing black zip hooded jumper and blue jeans.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the vicinity of the park at the time of the incident to come forward.
