Police investigate armed robbery at Hermit Park

Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) detectives are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a Hermit Park service station overnight (July 18).

Around 10pm, a man entered the Charters Towers Road business and indicated that he was carrying a weapon, before making demands for money.

The staff member, who was not physically injured, complied and the man fled on foot with a sum of cash.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 185cm tall with a proportionate build and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to come forward, and are asking homeowners, businesses and motorists in the vicinity to provide relevant CCTV or dashcam footage. Anonymous reports can be made.
