Police investigate armed robbery at Oakey

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Oakey yesterday evening.

Just after 6.30pm, a man entered the Bridge Street business armed with a tomahawk, carrying a green shopping bag.

He approached the counter, threatening the two employees and motioned for one of them to open the cash register.

The man then left on foot with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
