Police investigate armed robbery at Southport

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Southport this morning.

Around 11.10am, a man attended the business on Marine Parade, where he approached the front counter and produced a knife.

The man then gained entry behind the counter where he threatened the 23-year-old female attendant and stole cash and cigarettes before fleeing on foot.

The man was last seen running down High Street.

The man is described as 160cm tall and was wearing grey tracksuit pants with a stripe down the side, a dark blue hooded jumper, dark beanie, white socks with blue and white stripe 'Adidas' slip-on shoes at the time of the robbery.
