Police investigate armed robbery at Sunnybank

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Sunnybank Hills early yesterday morning.

Around midnight, two men wearing red bandanas across their faces entered the Pinelands Road service station and approached the counter.

One demanded cash from the 23-year-old male attendant while the second made threats while holding a knife.

The first attempted to climb under the counter while the attendant opened the cash register and handed over the till. The two fled towards Farne Street on foot.

No one was physically injured.

The first offender was wearing a grey hoodie, dark coloured trackpants and grey shoes with a white stripe.

The second was wearing a black hoodie, dark coloured pants and grey sports shoes with a blue outline.

They were both wearing gloves and had bags, one blue, the other black.

Investigations are continuing.
