Police investigate armed robbery at Wagga Wagga 24 February

Police are investigating an armed robbery near Wagga Wagga this morning.

Officers from Riverina Police District were called to a service station on Bourke Street, Tolland, about 4am (Thursday 24 February 2022).

Police have been told that a man armed with a hammer entered the store before he threatened the male attendant and demanded cash and cigarettes.

The employee handed over cash and cigarettes before the man fled the scene on a pushbike.

No injuries were suffered by the employee during the incident.

The man was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and pants, face mask, work boots and carrying a backpack.

Officers attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police.
