Police investigate armed robbery at Wilsonton

Investigations are underway into the armed robbery of a licensed premises at Wilsonton this morning.

Shortly after 3.30am a man entered the Richmond Drive business and became involved in a brief physical altercation with a security guard.

The man, armed with a piece of wood, then threatened staff by demanding they handover money.

He then fled on foot with a sum of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is described as aged in his 20s and was wearing a black hooded jumper at the time of the incident.

Investigations continue.
