Brimbank Embona Taskforce detectives are on the scene of an armed robbery which occurred at a Sunshine shopping centre earlier this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
The incident took place at a jewellery store in the Harvester Road shopping centre when two men, one armed with a firearm and the second man armed with a hammer, burst into the store just before 5pm.
The man with the firearm threatened a staff member while the other man used the hammer to smash several glass display cases.
The men grabbed various items of jewellery from the cases before fleeing from the store.
Both men got onto a black Honda CBR motorbike and left the scene, travelling north on Harvester Road.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
