Police investigate armed robbery - Towradgi

Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged armed robbery just north of Wollongong.

About 10.50pm yesterday (Sunday 20 October 2019) an unknown man attended a service station on Towradgi Road, Towradgi.

The man allegedly walked to the counter, lunged forward towards the service station attendant and removed a pair of scissors from a bag.

The man then allegedly placed the bag on the counter and demanded cash from the attendant.

The offender left the scene with an amount of cash and was last seen walking in a southerly direction along Carters Lane.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as approximately 180cm tall, of Caucasian appearance and was wearing a black hooded jumper with a sky-blue t-shirt over the top and black pants at the time of the alleged offence.

Police inquiries are continuing.
