Police Investigate Assaults In Fawkner

Police are investigating after a woman racially abused passengers on a train in the vicinity of Gowrie railway station in Fawkner on 5 April.

Officers responded to reports of multiple commuters being racially abused and physically assaulted on the platform of the station about 4.20pm.

It is believed the women was in possession of a hammer and a kitchen knife.

A man was struck with a hammer resulting in a minor injury to his hand.

The offender, who was carrying a small dog in a bag, fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Despite a thorough search of the area the woman was not located.

Investigators have released images of a woman they wish to speak to.
