Police have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Biggera Waters this morning.
It will be alleged that around 5.15am, a man entered the Brisbane Road business and approached the counter where he gestured he had a weapon, demanding money and cigarettes.
A male member of the public then physically restrained the man, bringing him to the ground.
The man resisted and a struggle ensured, during which a second male customer assisted.
Police were notified and attended the scene where they arrested a man.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
A 24-year-old Robina man has been charged with one count of attempted armed robbery.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court this afternoon, 16 October.
