Police investigate attempted break and enter - Lilyfield

Police are investigating after three men – armed with a gun and a sharp tool – attempted to break into a unit in Sydney's Inner West overnight.

Investigators have been told about 1.20am (Friday 31 January 2020), a 25-year-old man was sitting in his loungeroom in a unit on Lilyfield Road, when he heard a noise at his front door.

He approached the door and saw three unknown men with their faces covered, armed with weapons, before he slammed it shut and alerted his roommates.

The men kicked the door a number of times before leaving.

Officers from Leichhardt Police Area Command were notified and attended the unit to commence inquiries.

All three males were seen wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered.

Anyone who may have information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area and its surrounds are urged to contact Glebe Police Station or Crime Stoppers.

Investigations continue.
