Police investigate Bendigo Incidents

Police from Central Victorian Response Unit are investigating a number of incidents which occurred in Bendigo over the weekend, Victoria Police say.

On Friday 16 June a white Magna sedan was seen at a criminal damage in Derwent Drive, Long Gully about 3.25am.

Three people left the Magna and were seen damaging a parked car before getting back into their vehicle and driving off.

The Magna was then spotted in Ligar Street, Kennington about 3.30am where a property was damaged.

At 4.15am it was seen at a burglary at a service station in Sandhurst Road, California Gully where cigarettes and other items were stolen.

The Magna was seen once more at 5.40am at a burglary at a café in Carpenter Street where a tray of ham and cheese croissants was stolen.

Investigators believe that the incidents on Friday night involved the same group of offenders.

Police are also investigating a second set of incidents believed to have been committed by different offenders and starting on Sunday.

On Sunday a Holden station wagon was stolen from an address on the Midland Highway in Huntly.

The car was then used in a number of incidents on Monday Morning.

The Holden was seen at a petrol drive off at a petrol station on Midland Highway, Epsom about 1am.

It was then seen at a service station on Sandhurst Road, California Gully where cigarettes and stock were stolen during a burglary.

This was the same service station that was burgled on Friday.

The Holden was then seen on Oglivie Avenue, Echuca about 3.25am and avoided a police patrol.

At 3.45am it was seen at a burglary at a jewellers in Rochester where watches were stolen.

The car was then located burnt out in an industrial area near Murphy Street in East Bendigo about 6.30am

At this stage investigators have not linked the incidents on Friday night to those on Monday morning but wish to speak to anyone who may have information about the incidents or those involved.
